DOUGLAS W. ROTHROCK, M.D., FABIM, FACC, FABOM
Dr. Douglas Rothrock is an interventional cardiologist who is board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Cardiology, and the National Boards. He holds board certifications in Cardiology and Internal Medicine, and is board eligible in Electrophysiology and Sleep Medicine. In 1998, he opened Prescott Cardiology. In 2019 Douglas Rothrock became board certified in Obesity Medicine. Dr Rothrock currently practices Integrative and Preventative Medicine at The Heart Shop.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Rothrock completed his undergraduate work with top honors at Reed College in 1974. He obtained his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1978. He also completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1984. While in Oregon, Dr. Rothrock also completed a metabolic fellowship. Dr. Rothrock is fellowship trained in Electrophysiology and he completed Sleep Medicine training in 2010. He was named an Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University, where he taught Interventional Cardiology to physicians. In 2009, Dr. Rothrock trained and became a certified National Weight Loss Consultant. In 2013, Dr. Rothrock became certified through the Esthetic Skin Institute to perform medical esthetic procedures.
Over the last few years Dr. Rothrock has dedicated his professional life to the study of the connection between nutrition and the effects of food on the body at the biochemical level. He is tireless in his efforts of helping his patients to improve their life and health through education, support, and coaching in the areas of diet and nutrition. To date, his patients have lost a combined total of over 190,000 pounds.
The focus of Dr. Rothrock’s research is on the mechanism of aging and its psychological and emotional effects. He desires to offer patients sound education and advice, as well as non-surgical and non-invasive alternatives in the field of anti-aging medicine. Some of those options include education in the areas of how one can prevent premature aging and protect one’s skin for the future. He also will offer multiple medical esthetic techniques, including Botox, Dermal Fillers, and Facial Rejuvenation. He wants patients to understand that prevention is a better cure and that cosmetic procedures can be preventative, as well as restorative to the mind and soul.
With his unique medical training, thirty years’ of experience, and areas of focused research and study, Dr. Rothrock is fashioning his future practice around the theme of ‘Health, Wellness and Beauty.’
Dr. Rothrock’s greatest honor has been serving his patients who have entrusted him with their care. Dr. Rothrock lives in Prescott, AZ, and his hobbies include flying, scuba-diving, and photography.

After graduation, she worked as a Speed Waxer, specializing in Full Body and Brazilian Waxing using a method of waxing that is faster and less painful than traditional waxing.
